2 years ago (and about 4 months) I married my best friend, and my hair looked like this:
The point of that picture is to show that I had a lot of hair… I was planning on cutting it after the wedding, but my hair had never been that long before and I just wasn’t ready to part with it yet.
For the longest time I wanted to grow my hair long enough to donate, so that was always the plan… I just had to be brave enough to cut it!
Well, folks… that day finally came! If you follow me on Instagram you probably know this already, but for those of you that don’t… here are some shots of the new ‘do.
I am donating my hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program.
“Beautiful Lengths is a partnership between Pantene® and the American Cancer Society®, the largest nonprofit health organization committed to saving lives from every cancer and improving the quality of life for people facing the disease. The role of Pantene is to help women grow long, strong*, beautiful hair and provide the funds to turn this hair into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer. So far, Pantene has donated 24,000 free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country.”
It’s such a great cause, and I am so happy to be a part of it. I am definitely loving the change, but it takes some adapting… I have been wasting a lot of extra shampoo in the shower. :)
Have you ever donated your hair?
Would you ever consider growing it out to donate it?
